- The ones that you were once best friends with.
- The ones that you fell head over heels in love with.
- The ones that were so close to you, that they felt like family.
And as time goes on, you change as well. Remember those promises you made to yourself as you were growing up, going through grade school, middle school, etc.? How many of those promises have you kept?
- Are you drug-free?
- Are you still succeeding in your academics?
- Have you accomplished any of your goals?
- Are you happy with yourself/your life now?
I suppose that last question is the only one that should matter…
Just realize that almost nothing in this life is forever. Not even yourselves as you begin to grow older&mature. You’re most definitely going to lose a lot of people that you love. And you’re most definitely going to find new ones to love.
It’s a tough reality to face, and many of us (especially on Tumblr) go through depression, anxiety, self-harm, etc. dealing with this nonsense. Some of us are incredibly lonesome. You guys gotta take it all in stride. You have to be a good person to others and especially to yourself. Those are the kinds of people that succeed in this world. If you take people for granted, you’ll regret it later on. If you don’t treat yourself with respect, others won’t treat you with respect.
Know that you&others are changing. Just make sure that you’re changing for the better. And don’t take it out on others if they’re changing for the worse. Their time will come. While they’re falling behind, you will be striding ahead.
Stay positive guys ^_^
Some random dude who just got a reality check from reading old journal entries. <3
